This is step five of our Korean skin care regimen series! If you missed the first four, you can read step one here, read step two here, read step three here, and read step four here.
You may wonder how step five of ATOPALM’s Korean skin care regimen could be masks since ATOPALM.com doesn’t feature any face masks! While K-beauty flew to popularity with the use of sheet masks, that’s one arena that ATOPALM USA hasn’t joined.
Why? Because our skin care creams make such excellent face masks on their own! Since we know that ATOPALM creams can double as face masks, we believe that our customers should get to stick to the formulas they love, and not worry about adding more products to their skin care routine.
One thing to note is that, while K-beauty masks are listed as step five of the ATOPALM Korean skin care regimen, this does not mean that you should use a face mask cream as your fourth step every day. Rather, incorporate this deep moisturizing process once or twice a week, preferably in the evening.
If you’re looking forward to using your favorite ATOPALM cream as a face mask, but you’re not sure where to begin, read on to learn how to apply ATOPALM cream as a face mask.
Step one: choose a cream. Any ATOPALM cream can technically be used as a face mask, but we do have a couple of recommendations based on the various ingredients and formula concentrations we offer on ATOPALM.com.
For example, Intensive Moisturizing Cream is our best-selling moisturizer and can be used as a face mask, but you may see more noticeable results when using one of our Real Barrier formulas, due to the presence of the Real Barrier three-calming complex. Likewise, extremely dry or sensitive skin types may prefer to use an ATOPALM 130+ formula as their face mask to give their skin an intense dose of moisture and comfort.
Step two: begin your skin care process, with step one, step two, step three, and step four of the ATOPALM Korean skin care regimen. When you get to step five (normally Moisturize), move instead into the face mask application process. Note that step four is Treatment, but does include some of our face creams that can be used for treatment purposes. If your mask cream of choice is one of these treatment products, you can apply your mask as step four of the regimen.
Step three: apply as a mask. Instead of gently patting your cream into your skin, apply a thicker-than-normal layer and allow it to sink in gradually. This allows the cream to begin moisturizing immediately, but also to “drink in” the formula naturally, resulting in a more natural moisturization process. It also gives the formula’s active ingredients time to begin working on the surface of the skin before penetrating deeper to repair and replenish from the inside out.
You will be amazed at the difference this application process makes, even if you’re using your normal daily moisturizer as a mask! If you try this special face mask application, please leave us a comment below to let us know your thoughts!
