Psoriasis Awareness Month

Psoriasis is the most common autoimmune disease in the United States.

With an estimated 7.5 million Americans suffering from psoriasis, it’s shocking to see the stigma that still surrounds this all-too-prevalent skin condition.

August is Psoriasis Awareness Month. We’re using the opportunity to shed some light on psoriasis in order to educate those with psoriasis, as well as also those with friends or loved ones who struggle with the disorder.

Psoriasis is not contagious and is not the result of poor hygiene or diet. There are five main types of psoriasis with different symptoms, but the main psoriasis symptoms include skin issues such as:

  • Pain
  • Itching
  • Scaling
  • Cracking and bleeding
  • Redness
  • Dead cell buildup and sloughing

With psoriasis being the most common autoimmune disease in the U.S., it’s not shocking to learn that many celebrities and public figures suffer from the skin condition. Kim Kardashian West, CariDee English, Tom Waits, Jonathan Van Ness, LeAnn Rimes, and Eli Roth are just a few familiar names who have shared their struggles with psoriasis.

With more people opening up about their psoriasis, the stigma of the condition is lessening, but it is not gone altogether. It’s important to stay informed whether or not you struggle with psoriasis since it is likely you will meet (or already know) someone who deals with the symptoms of psoriasis.

ATOPALM MLE and Real Barrier aim to calm the symptoms of psoriasis in order to bring comfort to the skin and confidence to the individual.

Our #1 recommend product for psoriasis is also our #1 best-seller: MLE Intensive Moisturizing Cream. Intensive Moisturizing Cream is the original ATOPALM formula and is still a beloved part of the growing ATOPALM and Real Barrier family.

A rich blend of MLE, olive fruit oil, jojoba oil, and grape seed oil combine to deliver cholesterol, free fatty acids, and ceramides to the skin. This combination of lipids is highly beneficial to the skin and helps target psoriasis symptoms by supporting the skin’s natural lipid layer.

Intensive Moisturizing Cream can be used by psoriasis sufferers of any age, and can be applied over the entire face and body or used to target patches of psoriasis.
