Multi-lamellar emulsion, aka MLE, is what built the ATOPALM brand. If you’ve been an ATOPALM user for a while, you are deeply familiar with this revolutionary ingredient, but if you’re new to ATOPALM, it requires a little explanation.

Multi-Lamellar Emulsion (MLE) is a scientifically advanced recreation of your skin’s natural Maltese Cross molecule structure. Under a microscope, the natural skin barrier and MLE are identical in both appearance and function.

By reproducing this cellular structure and formulating superior skin care products to introduce it deep into the layers of skin, the damaged Maltese Cross molecules can be repaired and strengthened, healing the skin from deep within.

Multi-Lamellar Emulsion was created for ATOPALM by our founder, Dr. Park, who developed the ingredient to care for the eczema-prone skin of his children. MLE Lotion is lighter and milkier, making it a great choice for those with normal to oily skin types, or those who don’t want their application experience to feel too heavy for their preferences. As you may have guessed, this texture is more popular in spring and summer months.
